These photos by @abccameramatt broke my heart. The #australiafires are crippling. While it’s hard for me to hide my frustration towards big polluting governments, including Australia’s, for not heeding years of warning after pleading warning from the Pacific (and other vulnerable states) regarding the climate crisis, this is not the way a message should ever hit home. 😭😭😭Loss of homes, lives, 500 million animals. It’s all so tragic. I hope Australia is able to recover and rebuild with as much global love as possible. Shoeless, clueless and tipsy at gorgeous #youmaychrisgrace wedding 🌸🌸🌸 (so beautiful, big love) Walking and talking (a lot) my commitment to reused fashion, dress is a recycled @zimmermann 🧶. We can’t afford to make any new clothes peoples. 🌎🪐🌏 Right now, the fashion industry is responsible for 10 % of annual global carbon emissions. If demographic and lifestyle patterns continue as they are now, global consumption of apparel will rise from 62 million metric tons in 2019 to 102 million tons in 10 years. At this pace, the fashion industry’s greenhouse gas emissions will surge more than 50 % by 2030. Helllllllll no. Love you all a lot for following along. Please sign up to the @reuseolution for 2020. “It takes around 1,800 gallons of water to grow enough cotton to produce just one pair of regular ol’ blue jeans. And that’s just in terms of growing cotton, when you take into account the dye process as well as the machine wash almost 9,982 gallons of water are used.” 🤯Denim. Denim denim denim. I have 4 drawers dedicated to recycled denim. White, grey, blue, washed, worn, ripped denim. Denim denim denim. You can’t get better than denim. Levi’s, Mavi’s, Wranglers. 👖👖👖All in a second hand store near you, waiting patiently, for a road trip, a guitar strap or a night out of white tops and mojitos. 🍾Wear jeans that have the adventure gene. Buy ones with a story. Not a slick shiny store. Sign up to the 2020 #reuseolution by following @reuseolution and clicking on www.reuseolution.org. 🧵🧵🧵 We don’t need new. We need to reuse what we have. We can’t afford to ignore the climate impacts of the fashion industry. We can’t afford to keep being caught in a vortex of wanting more more more. 🤕😷 Save yo money!
